Our joblot homestarter packages contain some of the basics needed to live independently. They are even cheaper than buying the items individually; roughly 30% of our already cheap prices. Please note: our referral packages do not include electrical items, but we can give referred clients preferential access to these high demand/low supply items.
If you (or someone you know) have tried to access the Social Fund (or DWP loans) and you/they are in great need of furniture and/or household goods, we should be able to help.
All we need is a referral form completed by someone from an organisation that helps you or represents you and knows about your circumstances.
We have accepted forms from law centres, social services, DWP, CABs, housing associations, and groups that help people in the community who are in need (like refugee projects, groups that support families, homeless charities etc). Please note that any referral from Manchester City Council must be accompanied by a Valid Purchase Order (VPO) number for us to be able to process it.
Then you can get a joblot homestarter package that you can select for yourself out of what we have in stock at our two shops. Depending on the number and quality of items this should cost from £80 for a single person to £150+ for a family, which includes free delivery! By arrangement, packages can be selected on clients' behalf/in their absence.
