Our joblot homestarter packages contain some of the basics needed to live independently. They are even cheaper than buying the items individually; roughly 50% of our already cheap prices.
If you (or someone you know) have been turned down for the larger Department of Employment grant (c. £1,500) and you are in great need of furniture and/or household goods, we should be able to help.
Even if you have already received a Community Care Grant of £250 we can still help you.
All we need is a letter of referral from someone from an organisation that helps you or represents you.
We have accepted letters from law centres, social services, DWP, CABs, housing associations, and groups that help people in the community that are in need (like refugee projects, groups that support families, homeless charities etc). In that letter it must state that you cannot get a grant but are in real need. Please note that any referral from Manchester City Council must be accompanied by a Valid Purchase Order (VPO) number for us to be able to process it.

Then you can get a joblot homestarter package that you can select for yourself out of what we have in stock. Depending on the number and quality of items this should cost you £100-£150 which includes free delivery! |
