Within our main Fallowfield building we run a bicycle project which, as part of Wesley, aims to provide people with roadworthy bicycles (for cheap, green transport & leisure) for as little an outlay as possible. |
|||
All bicyles and bicycle parts welcome! Please donate anything you have in your shed/garage/back yard or hall: we always need bikes and bits that we can reuse/recycle and put to good use. Don't let it go to waste - get it to Wesley! Either bring to our Fallowfield shop or call our Transport Office 0161 226 9051 to arrange a free collection, Mon-Fri 9.30-3.30pm or Sat 10-1pm. As with the rest of Wesley, the income from sales funds the running of the project (it currently receives no grant-funding). |

Our two volunteer-mechanics (who are happy to help and give advice every Tuesday and Thursday at Lloyd Street) run a workshop that provides our shop with bicycles for adults (from £20) and children (from £5). We spruce-up donated bicycles and also put together machines from donated parts - drop in and we'll see what we can do for you. Whether you are after a commuter-hack, another bike for your family or to get your child started, a project bike or the occasional gem, please call in to our Fallowfield shop. We are there to get people on two wheels - as cheaply as we can. |

Recommended bicycle shops We work in partnership with the local Edinburgh Cycles shop, who supply us with discarded bikes and parts (and they have a great showroom and service centre), and they are <1/2 mile from us on Oxford Road, opposite Whitworth Park/Moss Lane East. We also recommend the Bicycle Boutique near MMU/All Saints, behind Sandbar/next to Sugden's sports centre; a great little local-run shop/workshop that shares our ethos of keeping bikes on the road as cheaply as possible. If you live in the vacinity of Stockport and have a bike to donate or are interested in bicycle mechanics/training, Cycles Recycled is a fantastic project. We also recommend the website and membership of CTC, the national organisation for cyclists. Excellent advice, membership benefits (including 3rd party insurance, magazine & e-newsletter and discount at Wiggle), lobbying, and information: all things bicycle-related. |
