Volunteers and volunteering
The Wesley relies heavily on its committed bank of volunteers. In fact, most of the work of the project is carried out by volunteers.
We are always looking for more people to work in our shops, drive vans, help collect and deliver donations, or work in the office- there are plenty of jobs to do!
Volunteers are free to give as much or as little time to the project as they see fit- as well as our daily team of volunteers, we have many people who come in once or twice a week- or even just for a morning!
Part of the ethos of the Wesley has always been that people involved in the project should be given the opportunity to develop new skills. Volunteers are encouraged to build up their skills and the Wesley can help with formal short courses such as computer training, health and safety, driving or first aid.
If you are interested in joining our team of volunteers give us a ring on 0161 226 9051, email us (info@thewesley.org.uk) or call at our main shop.
If you are registered unemployed you can ask at your local Job Centre about Voluntary & Community Sector work experience placements.
